Gallup defends their 2012 presidential campaign polling, despite giving the race a "dead-heat" label in the last few days of the campaign. The national popular poll from Gallup gave Romney a 50% mark to Obama's 49%.
Frank Newport of Gallup defended the methods used by the organization to poll likely voters. He said, "it is clear that voting today is subject to new pushes and pulls". Those have to be the early voting numbers. With early voting, there is a whole new complexion of politics. Perhaps it will take another election cycle to get polling accuracy back on track.
